250 characters for Open Questions? Sometimes not enough!

.... is not for all the questions so keep the 250 limit for standard Open Questions (we appreciate that in the slide layout this allows the usage of the 3 columns) but having an extra type like "Essay" that eventually can be displayed just scrolling down in one column so that the text is still big is a very needed feature and we hope this will go quickly in production!!!

That Is A Great Idea! If This Was Real, Mentimeter Would Have Great Reviews!

I agree - remove character limitation

+1 for this. Would love a much larger character count as our questions are often scenario based.

In the coding there wouldn’t be a way to keep the comment displayed at 250 characters but have an “extend” function to allow more? We see that type of functionality in most other online platforms the most notable examples are Facebook’s post and comments sections. A “more” option that would preserve the 250 characters for the presenter scroll but also allow for longer more nuanced responses. Expanding it outside of 250 with a “more” tab on the presenter side would be an engagement booster.
Even if the 250 characters is persevered on the flow display if the presenter selects the bubble to bring it up to the full screen that could display the full response. To notify the presenter that they flow bubble has additional response content it could use the “…” indicator at the end of the 250 limit but would only display the full response when the flow bubble is brought up full screen.
In my case the multiple submission doesn’t help. I am asking students to respond to a question after we review the material. The response should be about a paragraph long and often outstrips the 250 character limit. To ask them for multiple responses and under 250 character makes their responses incomplete. When I presented the product to my team, their chief complaint was that the character limit made it unusable in English and most social studies settings where longer length responses are common.

Perhaps offer it as an option for Presenters to select. as a teacher who uses Mentimeter for immediate feedback of learning in class, this would be an incredibly valuable feature for the student experience.

The text fields are limited to 250 characters. For complex setups, Mentimeter doesn't work

I use mentimeter with my students in my lectures. The students are given tasks to solve and then present their answers anonymously. For this I use the Open Ended format. Unfortunately the limitation to 250 charcters is a bit too tight for answers to more complex text tasks.

And I saw also another request not in this trail but still asking for the very same enhancement ... unfortunately it was dated ... let’s hop Menti will act this time
Jason
Francesca Di Pascale: Especially for the cost v. value. Menti is not inexpensive, esp when you're paying out of pocket as I am.

Awesome idea, this is something my team and myself have been waiting for ever since we started with Menti, and our audience constantly complains about. We fully support that idea !
